IMPACT Challenger

Equipped with the world's largest column-free hall

2004 - 2006

IMPACT Challenger is the world’s largest column-free exhibition hall with a combined column-free space of 60,000 sqm. The venue comprises three interconnected halls, a grand ballroom and 16 meeting rooms.  Asia’s largest indoor exhibition centre and Thailand’s largest ballroom are also housed within this latest addition in Muang Thong Thani, situated on the outskirts of Bangkok which fits the rapidly growing MICE market in Asia.

Bouygues-Thai was awarded the design & build contract. Scope of works covers ground floor with 2,000 places for car parking; two levels of lobby; an elevated Food Centre linking to the existing lobby hall 4; a 5,000 sqm grand ballroom, an elevated loading area, and a large hall of 60,221 sqm.

The massive single column-free exhibition hall and associated large span roof structure (489 m length x 131 m width x 16 m height) was a technical challenge for the project team. The fast-track project was completed within 20 months with partial operation of the facility in 13-month after the first pile was driven in August 2004.
