MahaNakhon is a luxury mixed-use skyscraper located in the Silom/Sathorn central business district of Bangkok, Thailand. Designed to fit into the Thai landscape with a unique pixelated façade, it features the unconventional appearance of a glass curtain walled square tower with a cuboid-surfaced spiral cut into the side of the building. The building has been recognised as the tallest building in Thailand at 314.2 m (1,031 ft).
Located next to BTS Chongnonsi Station, MahaNakhon rises 77 storeys with 1 basement level. The iconic landmark tower comprises luxury residences, hotel and retail as well as an observatory, with a smaller retail building (MahaNakhon CUBE) which has 7 floors plus 4 levels of basement.
In 2012, Bouygues-Thai Ltd. was awarded the scope of Design & Build for Structural Works for the main Tower, and build only for MahaNakhon CUBE.
The Total Gross Floor Area (GFA) of the development is around 150,000 sqm. The tenure is freehold.
Key elements include:
- The Ritz-Carlton Residences, 209 luxurious residences ranging in size from 2 – 5 bedrooms (120 – 850 sqm)
- The Bangkok Edition, a 154 room boutique hotel created by Marriott International & Ian Schrager
- Multi level retail including high end brands such as L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Dean & DeLuca
- 4 storey roof top observatory experience showcasing the view with supporting exhibition space and retail at the base of the tower
- Public plaza at the front of the site for exhibitions and events
Structure of the main tower reached the top in March 2015 and Façade work was completed end of 2015.
MahaNakhon held a celebration event on 29th August 2016 called “Bangkok Rising: Night of Lights”.
