Solar farms at Ayutthaya and Prathum Thani

18 MWdc solar farms delivered within 8 months

2016

Bouygues-Thai, in joint venture with Bouygues Engergies & Services (a sister company of Bouygues-Thai with its headquarter in Paris) and McTRIC Public Company Limited (a local company in Thailand) received the award of contract from Prime Road Group (PRG).

The Joint Venture was appointed by PRG as the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor, responsible for design, construction, operation and maintenance of all four solar farms.

Geographical and climatic constraints presented major construction challenges. To avoid flooding of the farms, a 3m high embankment was built. Thin-film solar modules, developed by First Solar, were adopted to cope with hot weather.

The team also accomplished remarkable achievements within a 4-month period – 8,405 concrete piles installed to accommodate 1,319 pieces of mounts for 201,720 solar panels. In parallel, 63km of trenches built with 162km cables laid. To ensure on-time delivery, more than 500 people worked on site at peak.
